Let’s talk! The Workshops & Professional Events

For many years, YOUNG STAGE’s mission has been to impart knowledge to young artists, to show them important aspects of being a professional artist, to prepare them for the free market and to provide them with professional advice. In addition, many direct contacts with bookers, directors and other professionals in the scene can be made at the festival itself, so that everyone goes home with a rucksack full of new input, suggestions and contacts.

Participation in the workshops is free of charge!
All workshops are open to performing arts professionals free of charge. Please register below!
What is discussed at the workshops is not just for performers in the circus scene. The topics are just as relevant for other performing arts disciplines such as dancers, musicians, actors, etc. Producers, directors and bookers are also very welcome. The workshops will be held in English. Let’s talk!

In our panel discussion, former YOUNG STAGE participants talk openly about the experiences of their artistic lives, challenges and valuable lessons! You will learn first-hand that mistakes can be an important tool for success and that you shouldn’t be afraid of them. «A Festival History comes to its End»

Host: Urs Jäckle (Artistic Director at Krystallpalast Varieté Leipzig)

The last day of an almost 20-year festival history. Wow! High time to look back with festival director and YOUNG STAGE founder Nadja Berger and say goodbye. From an era that has both enriched the international circus world and had a huge personal impact on Nadja and her team. In this final talk Nadja answers all your questions and talks about her experiences and learnings, emotional and unforgettable moments, wonderful friendships that have developed and the many challenges that have accompanied her over the years. And yes, the “Why are you quitting” question will of course not be missing. Will we probably need a handkerchief or two? Maybe yes! And that’s totally all right!
